Allan C. Golston, president of the United States Program.  Originally joining the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in 2000 as the chief financial officer, he began serving as president of the US Program in 2006 and oversees the foundations domestic work.

Allan holds degrees from Seattle University’s Albers School of Business (M.B.A) and University of Colorado (B.S. Accounting). He is an Aspen Institute Henry Crown Fellow and member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Allan is an active community volunteer and serves on the boards of several regional and national organizations. Allan’s professional experience is in consulting, public accounting, consumer packaged goods/manufacturing, software development, finance, healthcare, and education.

Allan grew up in Denver, Colorado. He is married to Stephen Bryant, and this past June, Allan & Stephen celebrated their 30th anniversary together.

Stephen D. Bryant started a journey of “rejuvenation” when he retired from a 40-year career in public education. In his final formal position, he led the Professional Learning Department in the 30,000 student Lake Washington School District.

In recent years, Stephen has focused on supporting aging parents. This last Fall Stephen spent an entire month in Arizona engaging in a “get out the vote” effort. Education: He holds degrees from Boston University (M.Ed.) and Northern Arizona University (B.S. Education).

Stephen is life-long educator with experience teaching in Arizona, Germany (Department of Defense Dependent Schools) and in Washington State. He has experience as a classroom teacher, elementary school principal and district level leader. He also spent several years working in the training and development industry with a focus on organizational change, teams and leadership.
