A native of Rumson, New Jersey, Sean O’Connor was a 1983 graduate of the United States Naval Academy. He served 28 years on active duty in the Navy highlighted by service on USS CUSHING (DD 985), USS RODNEY M. DAVIS (FFG 60) stationed in Yokosuka, Japan, Executive Officer of USS MITSCHER (DDG 57), Commanding Officer of USS LASSEN (DDG 82), and Commanding Officer of USS LAKE CHAMPLAIN (CG-57). When not at sea, Sean was often in Washington DC, including assignments as Special Assistant to Director, Office of Management and Budget (OMB) as a White House Fellow; Military Assistant to Deputy Secretary’s of Defense Wolfowitz and England; and tours on the Chief of Naval Operations and Chairman of Joint Chiefs Staff’s.
Sean joined Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory after retiring from Naval Service in 2011, leading analytic efforts assessing innovative technology applications. He joined Northrop Grumman Corporation in 2013 as Corporate Director for Navy & Marine Corps Programs.
Lori O’Connor is a San Francisco State University Nursing School graduate with critical care experience who still practices four days a week, currently at George Mason University. Her proudest accomplishments include Patrick (31), an Anesthesiologist on a Pediatric Anesthesia Fellowship at Arthur Blank Children’s Hospital in Atlanta with his wife Gillian, daughter Adelaide (2) and son Corbin (1); Ryan (29) working in data analytics for Sigma Computing in NYC; and Charlie (25) a US Navy Ensign assigned to USS GRAVELY DDG 107 in Norfolk.
